CHAPTER 11:
"He took me in his arms, his soft smile encompassing all that's good in the World, his bright eyes looked into me, as I blushed .I am his..........." Ari paused"Gah-That's just Rubbish!" she exclaimed, throwing down the book she read from.
I looked up at her from my laptop-"Why are you reading that then, if you're such a staunch feminist?"
"Oh...come on...I just thought-ok fine, my mistake" she scowls as she sits beside me.
"You need to start for the law firm job now , right?" she asks .
OH..It's already late!!!!!.....I'm dead meat for Sandra now!!!!
''Yeah..i better start then.."I run and change to a pale pink shirt, white skirt.
"Nice" Ari grins.
I thank her and run at high speed, knocking Kate's handbag .I shout a sorry and run past the dormitory, catch a taxi and rush.

"You're 20 minutes late" Sandra looks at her watch and scowls at me"And you havent been here for 2 days "
"I'm sorry ...I had a busy time at the Univ" I mumble and get to work, answering and directing calls, while Sandra's on her phone, talking to her fiance....It's pathetic the number of times she says "Yeah...love ya" and "Oh...come on honey.." with a goofy grin.And the way she talks , I might be invisible.She is happily oblivious of the fact that I exist beside her.
So, 33 calls later, i check my cell to find 5 missed calls from my Uncle.Ari's sent a message."Why havent you picked your phone?Your uncle called me...dont ask me how he got my number..anyway, he wants you to come to his place today immediately,he sounded urgent and frantic.William's coming to drop you there"
I hate the entire message, except for perhaps the last sentence....
I tell Sandra I need to rush.."Whatever" she says and gets back to her 'honey'.
I wait outside...I HATE the fact that I need to go to my uncle's place...he's always a nosey parker and all my cousins and relatives there, would make Sandra look like an angel.It's horrid...why do these things happen to me always?
I 'm irritated and in a tetchy mood, when William shows up in his black car, and says "Hop in"
"Yeah right " i say as I sit in the front seat .He's wearing a navy blue shirt , sleeves rolled up, and faded jeans.
"So..where exactly is your uncle's place?" he asks.
"Wellington Avenue"I look at him and add" Is this your car?"
"No...a friend of mine's.Ari wanted you to get to your uncle's place fast and insisted that I take the car" he says
Oh..thanks a bunch Ari.You're a true friend..
"Music?" he asks me.
''No...sorry..I'm not in the mood" I cut him.
''Right...ok then" he says.
And we keep mum. It's complete silence, except the horns honking and the noise of the traffic outside.It starts raining, as he auto-closes the car windows.
I look through them...NYC,when it rains...is an amazingly pretty sight.
"Unexpected rain ha?" I break the silence.
"Yeah...kinda" he says.
"You can play the music now " I smile.
"No..it's ok..You're disgusted and irritated because?" he questions.
"Because I need to spend 3 whole days stuck with my snobby relatives and irritating uncle, who'd spend the entire time ridiculing me." I scream.
"Why would they do that?" he asks, cool as a cucumber , and acting as though I never shouted.
Which irritates me evenmore..!!!!
"Because...they think I'm scum ok?My family has never been in the same financial position as them. To us,me winning the scholarship was the best thing ever.To them, it was a pitiful thing how only a scholarship could get me here and how I didnt have enough money without the scholarship.You wont understand how it is..."
"No...I do understand..I'm sorry" he looks at me.
"You dont need to pity me..I'm perfectly happy the way I am" I snap and avoid looking at him, instead concentrating on the raindrops on the car being swept off by the wipers.
"I'm not pitying you..I think you're awesome to win the scholarship..but you'd be foolish if you get bogged down by your uncle and cousins, who're so obviously jealous." he says
"Oh..yes..foolish..that's what I am" I snarl..he's getting me real angry now...yeah...calling me names!!!!??
"Oh come on Ananya..." he raises his voice.The first time I've seen him do it....and stops the car beside a tree.
"That was not what I meant and you know it!!!" he looks at me.
''Why're you stopping the car?" I gasp.
"Oh...for heavens sake..I'm not gonna kidnap you.I'm asking you to not take them(your cousins and relatives) seriously..because they're NOT worth it" He says aloud.
"Ok." i say.."Will you start the car?"
He looks deep into my eyes...smiles and says ''Yes...sure"...and starts the car.
I start crying...no man, I didnt mean to cry actually,..it's just that...you know my uncle always thinks my family's not superior or whatever..but now, what William says makes perfect sense..which means, again I'm wrong..My thoughts are muddled and come out in the form of tears..
William notices this and gives me a Kleenex.But he doesnt speak a word...I dab my eyes into it ...as I notice we've reached my uncle's place.
"Thanks for the ride.." I smile as I open the door.
He smiles back....."Anytime".

Ananya is a nut...lol....and i'm a 'selfish' authoress ha...???Yeah..I'm a bit cruel to her if thats what you mean...but she'll have a great time too..dont worry..lol..and as for cars and rains...that's a personal favourite;)

hi Lilyrose....she is a nut, she should have ravished him in the car, that time he stopped......as it is you never know with authoressess......they may find him another love interest just to serve their own selfish interests.
